Rollover allocation: silver vs. gold in my IRA

Been thinking a lot about my precious metals allocation lately, especially with the inflation data looking sketchier by the month. My Gold IRA's been pretty much a gold-only show for years now – just shy of $2.5M in it. I've always seen gold as the ultimate store of value, the bedrock of my retirement strategy since I left the Street in '18. I'm sitting here in my UWS apartment, looking out at the Hudson, and just wondering if I'm leaving something on the table by not having more silver.
My total portfolio (excluding this IRA) is comfortably above the $3M mark, and a good chunk of that's tied up in other metal plays and some dividend stocks. Always been a bit of a contrarian, and the mainstream keeps pushing tech and crypto, which honestly, after seeing a few cycles go bust, just doesn't feel right to me. I survived '08 by sticking to my guns with hard assets, and I'm not about to change my stripes now. But silver… it's got that industrial demand angle, plus it's still way off its all-time highs. There's a part of me that thinks it could really outperform gold in a significant run.
Currently, my physical silver holdings are pretty small, maybe 5% of my overall metals exposure, mostly coins I picked up over the years. I'm specifically talking about the IRA rollover here. Is anyone else significantly diversified into silver within their Gold IRA, or is everyone else largely sticking to gold as well? I'm debating whether to reallocate some of my existing gold or use additional capital to buy silver through my custodian when I make my next contribution. My custodian offers both, so logistically it’s not an issue.
I know the volatility is higher with silver, but the potential upside feels stronger too. I'm not looking to chase quick gains; this is about long-term wealth preservation and growth, especially given the current economic climate in NYC and globally. Any thoughts on a reasonable percentage allocation for silver in a ~$2.5M rollover account, specifically from those who've been around the block a few times with precious metals? Or am I just overthinking it and should just stick with gold as the primary driver?
