Okay, so I'm relatively new to this whole Gold IRA thing, just rolled over about $75k from an old 401k a few months back. I'm a small business owner here in Denver, and honestly, the market volatility lately has got me feeling a bit antsy. I always heard about gold as a hedge, but I'm thinking about diversifying a little within my precious metals.
My current allocation is mostly gold, as expected, but I've been reading up on silver bars. It seems like a lot of folks on here are bullish on silver right now, and the lower cost per ounce could mean I could get a decent amount without significantly impacting my gold position too much. I'm not looking to dump all my gold, but maybe shift 10-15% of my total portfolio into silver bars. My thinking is, it's still a tangible asset, and it seems to have a lot of industrial demand that gold doesn't always have as strongly.
Has anyone here rebalanced their Gold IRA to include a good chunk of silver bars? Any specific types or sizes you'd recommend looking into? I'm trying to figure out if this is a smart move for someone fairly new to this or if I should just stick to my current gold-heavy approach for now. Appreciate any insights!
