Rebalancing - Shifting some Gold Coins?

Been thinking a lot about rebalancing the portfolio lately, especially with how things have been bouncing around. My Gold IRA is sitting pretty well, holding around 15% of my overall 400k right now, mostly in some nice American Gold Eagles and a fair bit of Canadian Maple Leafs. Got into these a few years back, largely thanks to my dad pushing for it – you know, generational wealth and all that. He always drilled into me the importance of having that tangible asset, especially with the timber market being so volatile over the decades in Spokane.
My question is, with the recent run-up, I'm feeling a bit top-heavy in gold. It's done its job shielding during some of the downturns, but I'm looking at my allocations and wondering if I should trim some of the gold coins to reallocate into something else. Maybe more real estate holdings or some high-dividend stocks? The idea of selling off some of these coins, especially the older ones I've come to think of as family heirlooms, feels a little… wrong. Emotionally, it's tough to let go of something that’s been such a bedrock. But rationally, I know it's probably the smart move for long-term growth.
Those of you who have rebalanced out of gold, how did you decide what to sell? Did you go for a specific percentage reduction, or did you target individual holdings? And what did you end up putting the capital into? Just curious about everyone else's experiences and if that emotional attachment to specific assets is something you've had to overcome too. Any insights from folks who've navigated this would be super helpful.
