Been doing some serious deep dives into my portfolio lately. I've got a decent chunk, about $180k, spread across a few different buckets, including a decent Gold IRA. I’ve been in the casino industry out here in Vegas for long enough to know a thing or two about risk and reward, so I like to be strategic, not just toss chips on red every time. My gold has been a solid performer, no complaints there, but I'm looking at platinum and wondering if I'm missing something big.
I feel like platinum has been just kinda… sitting there for a while, compared to gold. Am I crazy for thinking it's undervalued right now? I'm trying to decide if it's worth reallocating a portion of my IRA to platinum, or if I should just stick with what’s working. The industrial demand side of things for platinum seems really volatile, and that's usually where I see the biggest swings, but the supply constraints are also pretty wild. For those of you who have platinum in your Precious Metals IRA, what's your take? What made you decide to get into it, and how has it performed for you?
I’m also starting to think ahead to when I'll actually need to start taking distributions. I was playing around with the RMD Calculator on Gold IRA Blueprint – that thing is really handy for figuring out what I’ll owe when the time comes. It got me thinking about how different assets might impact those distributions. Does anyone factor in RMDs when they're deciding on their asset allocation percentages within their IRA? I'm trying to make sure I'm not just chasing gains but also planning for the long haul.
Any thoughts on platinum's future, especially from an investment perspective within an IRA, would be super helpful. Are you bullish, bearish, or somewhere in the middle? Thanks!
