Platinum in my Gold IRA? Thinking about diversifying more

Okay, so I've been exclusively in gold for my IRA portfolio for a while now, and it's been a solid performer for me – no complaints there at all. I’ve got about $300k in my Gold IRA right now, and while I love the stability and long-term appreciation I've seen, especially with all the market volatility lately, I've been doing some serious research into platinum. Being based out here in Salt Lake City, I’ve got a couple of buddies who are also into precious metals and we chew the fat about this stuff regularly. One of them actually mentioned platinum being really undervalued, and it got me thinking.
My financial advisor, who usually helps clients with these types of Gold IRAs, actually mentioned platinum earlier this year, but I kinda brushed it off at the time because gold was just cruising. Now, though, looking at the price action and some of the industrial demand projections, particularly for green technologies and automotive, it just feels like it has so much more upside potential right now compared to gold. Gold is doing its thing, sure, but platinum seems like it's been sleeping for too long.
I'm seriously contemplating allocating a chunk of my next contribution, maybe $25k-$50k, into platinum instead of just adding to my gold holdings. It just feels like an opportunity I might regret missing if I don't at least look into it seriously. Does anyone else here have platinum in their precious metals IRA? What's been your experience? Any thoughts on whether its current price truly indicates it's undervalued, or if it's just wishful thinking on my part? What are some of the pros/cons you've encountered?
