Palladium in an IRA - anyone else considering it or already in?

Been seeing a lot of chatter lately about palladium, and it got me thinking about my own Gold IRA. I’m a retired teacher here in Phoenix, and after the 2008 mess, I poured about a quarter of my portfolio into gold. Mostly physical, kept it with one of those reputable custodians, and it’s been a good, steady anchor for me. Not looking to get rich quick, just protect what I’ve got, you know?
My Gold IRA is sitting right around the $150k mark, all in various gold coins and bars. But palladium’s performance this past year or two has been pretty compelling. I remember my advisor back then mentioning it as a possibility for diversification, but I just stuck to good old gold. Now, with the auto industry, electric vehicles (though that’s platinum’s turf more, right?), and supply chain issues, it seems like palladium might have a strong future. I'm wondering if it's worth adding a small percentage to my current holdings, or if it might be too volatile for someone in my position. My main goal is capital preservation, not speculation, though a little extra growth wouldn’t hurt!
Has anyone here already diversified their precious metals IRA with palladium? What was your rationale? Did you notice any significant differences in custodian fees or storage costs compared to gold? I’m thinking maybe 5-10% of my current PM allocation, certainly not diving in headfirst. Any insights from folks with experience in this would be greatly appreciated. I'm always looking to learn from others, especially those who’ve been in the game longer than me, even if it's just for a few years.
