Honestly didn't think I'd be posting one of these so soon, but I'm feeling pretty good about my Gold IRA performance lately! I know y'all hear a lot about the big players with gold portfolios in the millions, but for those of us just starting out, it's cool to see tangible results even with smaller amounts.
I opened my Gold IRA about three years ago, right when I landed my first "real" job and was trying to figure out adulting and retirement. I'm in Charleston, SC, and definitely wanted something outside of just stocks for long-term stability. Started with an initial rollover of about $5,000 from an old 401k, and then faithfully contributed around $150-$200 a month consistently. It wasn't always easy, especially with student loan payments and trying to save for a down payment eventually.
Fast forward to now, and my Gold IRA is sitting just north of $13,000! That's a pretty solid gain for someone who was just aiming for diversification and hedging against inflation. It's not life-changing money, but seeing that growth is a huge motivator to keep chugging along. Plus, knowing it's physical gold gives me a level of peace of mind I don't quite get from seeing my stock portfolio fluctuate wildly sometimes. I definitely feel more secure about my financial future thanks to this.
