Hey everyone,
Ruth Perez here, chiming in from sunny Albuquerque! Been a lurker for a while, soaking up all your awesome insights, but I finally feel like I have something valuable to share. I wanted to talk about my gold rounds, specifically, and how they've been a quiet, steady success story for me, especially compared to some of the rollercoaster rides I've seen in my traditional accounts. As many of you know, I'm a government employee, and while my pension is a great foundation, I'm always looking for ways to supplement it. That's why I started my Gold IRA back in 2015, just shy of $60k to begin with, and it's comfortably sitting closer to the $80k mark now, solely from those beautiful gold rounds.
My husband, Miguel, initially thought I was a bit crazy, investing in "shiny rocks" as he called them, instead of just dumping everything into more mutual funds. But honestly, watching the volatility of the markets over the past few years, especially with all the global uncertainty, those gold rounds have been a real anchor. I remember specifically last year when inflation was really rearing its head, and I saw my 401k barely treading water. Meanwhile, my Gold IRA was just… doing its thing. No drama, just consistent, quiet growth. It's not a get-rich-quick scheme, I know that, but it's given me such peace of mind knowing I have a truly diversified portfolio. It feels good to have something tangible that isn't just numbers on a screen.
I started small, just focusing on American Gold Buffalos and some Canadian Maples, and I've slowly added to it over the years. My goal was always around the $100k mark by the time I'm 60, and I’m feeling pretty confident I’ll hit that or even exceed it. For those of you who are just starting out with your Gold IRA, especially if you're like me and looking for a solid pension supplement, don't underestimate the power of those gold rounds. They might not be the flashiest, but they are reliable.
What about you all? Anyone else have a similar experience with their gold rounds outperforming expectations? Or any advice for someone like me who’s looking to potentially add some platinum or palladium to the mix without over-complicating things? Always eager to hear your thoughts!
