Thought I’d share my experience with Augusta Precious Metals for anyone on the fence about a Gold IRA rollover. I’ve been in the dairy business my whole life, seen enough ups and downs to know you can’t trust paper money indefinitely. Got about $750k in my portfolio, mostly traditional stuff, but decided a good chunk needed to be in something tangible. With all the talk about inflation and the economy going sideways, it just felt like the right move, especially with retirement not too far off for me here in Madison.
I looked at a few companies, but Augusta really stood out after doing my homework. Their educational webinar was actually really informative, not just a sales pitch. They laid out the process clearly and answered every question I had without any pressure. I’m a practical guy, appreciate straightforward talk, and they delivered. The rollover itself was surprisingly smooth. I was expecting a bureaucratic nightmare, honestly. Had about $200k in an old 401k I wanted to move. Their team walked me through the paperwork, helped me get everything squared away with my old custodian, and handled the transfer to the new Idaho depository without a hitch. Took about three weeks from start to finish, which felt pretty quick for moving that kind of money around.
My advisor, Isaac, was great – always available to answer my calls, even when I had what felt like dumb questions. I ended up getting a mix of silver and gold, mostly AGEs and some Silver Eagles, based on their recommendations and my own research. The pricing seemed fair, and they were transparent about the fees, which I appreciated. No surprises there. It’s a relief knowing a portion of my savings is now in physical assets, insulated from some of the market madness. It’s a different kind of peace of mind than just seeing numbers on a screen.
Anyone else here go with Augusta? Or have a different Gold IRA company they really liked (or disliked)? Always interested to hear other folks' perspectives, especially on how their investments are performing in the current climate. What’s everyone’s strategy for weathering potential economic storms?
