My 401k to Gold IRA Rollover - Was a good move for me

Just wanted to share my experience rolling over a chunk of my old 401k into a Gold IRA. I've been in the dairy game my whole life here in Wisconsin, seen a lot of ups and downs, and frankly, the market lately has felt a little too much like those volatile milk futures for my comfort. Had about $650k in an old company 401k that was just sitting there, mostly in mutual funds.
Decided to move about $200k of it over to physical gold, specifically some American Gold Eagles and Canadian Maple Leafs. The process itself was surprisingly straightforward. I was dreading a mountain of paperwork, but the company I worked with handled most of it. It took about three weeks from my initial call to actually seeing the gold held in my name at the depository. The biggest hiccup was probably just getting my old 401k provider to release the funds in a timely manner. They weren't exactly proactive, let's just say that.
Emotionally, it's been a huge weight off my shoulders. I still have plenty in stocks diversified across different sectors, but knowing I have a solid percentage in something tangible, out of the digital ether, just makes me sleep better. With inflation ticking up and all the global uncertainty, it feels like a practical, Midwestern kind of insurance policy. I'm not looking to get rich quick with gold; I'm looking for preservation of wealth, plain and simple.
Anyone else here done a similar rollover recently? I've been using this Retirement Planner over at Gold IRA Blueprint to model different scenarios, and it really helped solidify my decision to diversify. It's pretty neat for visualizing how gold fits into a long-term plan. For those of you considering it, what are your biggest reservations? Curios to hear other folks' thoughts and experiences, especially regarding specific coin choices or storage options.
