Moving my 401k to a Gold IRA - timeline expectations?

I'm trying to wrap my head around the timeline for rolling over a portion of my late husband's old 401(k) into a Gold IRA. I’ve been researching this for a while now – it’s important to me to protect what he worked so hard for. I'm looking to transfer about $75,000, maybe a little more, into physical gold and silver, mostly coins I think.
I’ve talked to a couple of companies, and they all give slightly different estimates. One said as fast as a couple of weeks once everything is submitted, another said it could easily be a month or even six weeks. That seems like a pretty big difference! I'm in Raleigh, NC, and I'm wondering if anyone in the area has recent experience with this? Does the state you live in affect anything, or is it purely down to the custodian and the gold dealer?
My biggest concern is really just the money sitting in limbo, or missing out on a good entry point while all the paperwork goes through. I know these things take time, but I'm feeling a bit anxious about it. What was your experience like from start to finish? Did you run into any unexpected delays? Any advice on things I should be asking my current 401k administrator or the new gold IRA custodian to speed things up (if that's even possible)?
It's not just about the money, you know? It's about securing his legacy, and this whole process feels a bit daunting. Any insights on realistic timelines or even just what to expect regarding communication during the transfer would be incredibly helpful.
