Minimums for Gold IRAs - what are y'all seeing out there?

Been looking into finally getting some of my retirement funds into a proper Gold IRA. My family's always preached tangible assets, especially with what we’ve seen in the timber industry over the decades – you can feel a good stand of Ponderosa, you know? Paper assets just don't hit the same when you've grown up watching trucks haul logs to the mill. I've got about $300k sitting in an old 401k that I rolled over into a traditional IRA a while back, just collecting dust in mutual funds, and I'm ready to diversify some serious capital into something more... real.
I've been poking around different providers and getting a bit confused by the minimum investment requirements. Some places are saying $50k, others $25k, and then a few are vague about it. It makes me wonder if they're just fishing for bigger fish or if there are actual regulatory reasons for these discrepancies. I'm not looking to dump my entire portfolio into gold right now, but I want to make a substantial initial buy – thinking somewhere in the $75k-$100k range to start, just to get a good position. For context, I’m based out of Spokane, WA, so any regional advice on custodians or depositories would be a huge bonus.
My main goal here is generational wealth preservation. My grandfather started with nothing but grit and a handsaw, built up what became a decent operation, and we've been taught to always think long-term, multi-generational. Fiat currency fluctuations? Geopolitical instability? Those don't keep me up at night when I know there's a strong foundation in something like gold. So, when you guys opened your Gold IRAs, what were the practical minimums you encountered? And did you feel like those minimums locked you into a particular type of service or fee structure? Any pitfalls to watch out for regarding these initial investment requirements?
