Made the jump into silver for my IRA - thoughts?
- •Okay, so I've been a pretty steady gold investor for a while now, probably have close to $200k in my Gold IRA.

Okay, so I've been a pretty steady gold investor for a while now, probably have close to $200k in my Gold IRA. Based here in Tampa, been in healthcare administration for like, 15 years now, so I really like stability and tangible assets. Gold has always been my bedrock, especially with all the economic uncertainty we've seen. It just feels right to hold something real.
But lately, I've been seeing a lot of chatter about silver's potential, especially for long-term growth. The industrial demand angle is compelling, and honestly, the price point for silver feels a little more accessible for adding volume compared to gold. I'm not looking to dump all my gold, not by a long shot, but I started thinking about diversifying within the precious metals space itself. Pulled the trigger last month and added about $25k worth of silver bars to my IRA. Mainly focused on 100oz bars, just makes sense for storage and tracking.
I know some people are pure gold bugs and others are all about silver, but I kind of see it as a "best of both worlds" approach. Gold for the ultimate stability and inflation hedge, silver for that industrial upside and potentially bigger percentage gains if things align. My financial advisor was a bit 50/50 on it, but ultimately understood my reasoning for wanting to broaden the precious metals base. It just feels... smarter. Any other gold-heavy investors here who decided to pivot some funds into silver? What was your rationale and how's it performing for you?
I'm generally a "buy and hold" kind of guy, especially for retirement, so I'm not checking prices daily. But there's definitely a different kind of excitement with silver, feeling like it has more room to run. Anyone else feel that?
