Looking for Gold IRA Recs (especially if you started smaller!)
- •Okay, so I've been dabbling in precious metals for a while now, mostly as a hedge against inflation and general market craziness.
- •My overall portfolio is in the 7-figure range, but the gold/silver portion started much smaller, probably around $50k back when I initially got in.
- •I'm a doctor here in Boston, and while I have a good handle on my investments, the IRA side of precious metals still feels a bit niche.
Okay, so I've been dabbling in precious metals for a while now, mostly as a hedge against inflation and general market craziness. My overall portfolio is in the 7-figure range, but the gold/silver portion started much smaller, probably around $50k back when I initially got in. My current Gold IRA is with a company I chose a few years ago based on an ad, honestly. They've been... fine. No major complaints, but also nothing that's blown me away. Fees seem reasonable enough, and I haven't had any issues with statements or accessing information. But considering I'm looking to potentially add another $100k-$200k to that, I want to make sure I'm with the best option, not just an "okay" one.
Specifically, I'm wondering if anyone here has recommendations for Gold IRA companies that were particularly good for them when they were starting out with a smaller allocation, say under $100k-$150k. Did you feel like you still got good service? Low fees? Any companies that are known for being particularly transparent or having great customer support for accounts that weren't gigantic from day one?
I'm really trying to optimize this part of my portfolio as my practice gets busier and I have less time to deep-dive into every single option out there. Any personal experiences, good or bad, would be super helpful. Thanks!
