Leaning into silver for IRA - thoughts on allocation?

I've been wrestling with my precious metals allocation lately, and I'm really curious to hear what others are doing, especially those with similar portfolio sizes. My current setup for my Gold IRA is about 80% gold and 20% silver. I'm sitting on around $400k in the IRA right now, and the gold has obviously been a solid anchor. But I'm starting to wonder if I should be bumping up that silver percentage.
My reasoning for considering more silver is twofold. First, the industrial demand just seems poised for significant growth, particularly with all the green tech initiatives. Solar panels, EVs, electronics – silver is a critical component across the board. Gold is primarily monetary and a hedge against inflation and uncertainty, which I value deeply as a professor in Richmond, VA, who’s seen a few market cycles. But silver feels like it has that extra kick from fundamental demand.
Second, the gold/silver ratio is still historically high, even with some recent movements. It makes me think silver might have more room to run before catching up. I’m a research-driven guy, so I’ve been poring over historical data and various market analyses. I used the Retirement Planner linked on that site to scenario-test some different allocations, and it really got me thinking about the potential upside of even a 30-40% silver allocation. It's a tool I'd recommend to anyone trying to visualize long-term impacts.
Would upping my silver exposure to, say, 35-40% introduce too much volatility for an IRA, even with the long-term horizon? Or am I being too conservative sticking mostly with gold? My plan is to continue dollar-cost averaging into the IRA regardless, but I’m debating adjusting the metal mix on future contributions. Any experienced investors here with a healthy silver weighting care to share their rationale or any pitfalls they’ve encountered?
