LCR Coin is one I looked into back in '21, mainly because they were pushing hard on social media. Their fees for smaller transactions were just a non-starter for someone like me in Portland with a decent chunk in their IRA, I need scale. Compared to some of the more established players, their spread felt pretty aggressive too. Always check those buy/sell differences, folks, that's where they get you.

From what I've seen with LCR, especially after a client of mine almost went with them for a sizable silver purchase, their bid-ask spread is just way too wide. For anyone looking at 250k+ into a Gold IRA, even a half percentage point difference adds up significantly over time – that's real money that should be working for you, not for their commission. Always push for transparency on their pricing models.

This is really helpful, thanks for breaking down the fee structure like that. One thing I'm still trying to get my head around is how LCR handles rebalancing within the IRA. Do they charge an additional fee for trades beyond the initial setup, or is that rolled into their annual 'management' percentage? Had an issue with a previous custodian nickel-and-diming me, so trying to avoid that again.

I've seen LCR come up a few times, mostly for their silver deals, but is anyone actually using them for their Gold IRA? Seems like the premiums on their gold coins are a bit higher than some other places I've been researching for a while now, even with their "promo" pricing. Just curious if others have pulled the trigger with them specifically for gold and had a good experience, or if they're more of a silver-focused shop like I suspect.

Okay, so I was seriously burned by a different dealer a few years back – high fees, slow transfers, just a nightmare. I’d almost sworn off moving any more of my retirement into metals. But after seeing a few posts here on GIRAB talking about LCR and their direct allocation service, I decided to do some more digging. Honestly, I didn't expect much, but my experience from initial quote to final transfer was shockingly smooth, especially compared to what I dealt with before. The transparency on pricing was a breath of fresh air; no hidden surprises when the invoice came.

This LCR Coin thread hit home. I actually considered them back in 2021 when I was first looking into rolling over my old 401k. I was living in Seattle, and a buddy of mine from work kept raving about LCR because he’d used them for some silver purchases outside an IRA. I started doing my own due diligence, probably spent a solid month reading everything I could. The fees seemed a bit opaque, to be honest. Everywhere else I looked, the pricing was clearer, but with LCR, it felt like I'd need to jump through hoops to get a straight answer on their buy/sell spreads. I ended up going with another company simply because their fee structure was transparent from the first call. It’s funny, I remember looking at the Gold vs Stocks 10-year comparison right around then on GIRAB, trying to decide my allocation – that chart really puts things in perspective and helped me commit to gold, but LCR just didn't make the cut for my actual investment. Glad I trusted my gut on that one.

LCR Coin is definitely one of the names that pops up a lot when you're researching gold IRAs, especially considering their marketing. I looked into them myself back in 2021 when I was setting up my account. Ultimately, I went with Augusta Precious Metals because their fee structure felt more transparent for my 75k rollover – flat annual fee, no surprises. Always dig deep into the storage and custodian costs, that's where some of these companies get you.

Saw some folks on here talking about LCR Coin. When I was doing my due diligence on them (and a few others in the Minneapolis area), I found the TrustLink site surprisingly helpful. Their rating system and user reviews felt a lot more trustworthy than some of the other 'review' sites out there that just shill for whoever pays them. Worth a look if you're trying to cut through the noise, especially with the higher minimums some of these places demand.

Yeah, totally agree on LCR. I looked at them back in 2021 when I was first setting up my IRA. Their fees were so high it just wasn't worth it, especially compared to others. Ended up going with Augusta Precious Metals out of Nevada after comparing a few more local Spokane options too. The difference was night and day.

@Andrew Roberts - Man, I hear you. "Nightmare" doesn't even begin to cover some of the crap I went through with a different outfit about five years back. Thought I was being smart diversifying, ended up losing money just on fees and spread before the metals even went anywhere. I was absolutely ready to write off precious metals entirely from my retirement, figured it was all just a big scam for the unwary. Honestly, I stumbled onto GIRAB almost by accident, still skeptical as hell, but the breakdown of the fee structures and the specific dealer reviews here really opened my eyes to how some of these companies operate. It wasn't just vague advice, it was actionable stuff.

LCR Coin is one of those outfits that popped up a few years ago riding the 'alternative investment' wave. I considered them back in ~2020 when I was first moving some of my 401k into a Gold IRA, but their premium structure felt a bit opaque to me. Ended up going with something more established, even if the fees were a touch higher initially, just for peace of mind. Always worth a deep dive into the fine print with any precious metals dealer.

@Barbara White Yeah, LCR Coin's social media push was intense, almost a red flag for me back then. The fees for those smaller transactions are exactly what I ran into trying to diversify a bit more aggressively. I found a couple of their competitors were able to roll those fees into the spread or had slightly higher minimums that ended up being cheaper overall once you factored everything in. My advice is always to ask for a *total* cost breakdown, not just the per-ounce fee, for your specific investment amount.

I actually used LCR earlier this year to roll over an old 401k, about $35k of it, into a Gold IRA. Their fee structure was a bit confusing initially, but this Gold IRA Fees Breakdown article on GoldSilver.com really helped me understand what I was looking at. Definitely worth a read if you're trying to compare different providers past just the initial sales pitch.

Been seeing LCR pop up when I'm researching custodians for my new Gold IRA. Any *major* red flags I should know about before I dig into their fee schedule? Some of these gold IRA companies feel like shell games until you look closely, so I'm trying to be extra careful from the start.
