Man, what a ride the last few years have been! Just finally hit my personal goal of 10,000 ounces of physical silver bars in my Gold IRA. It feels pretty damn good, not gonna lie. Started this whole thing back in 2019 with about $50k from a good harvest year, figuring it was better off in something real than sitting in the bank losing value. My local bank guy here in Fresno looked at me like I had two heads when I told him I wanted to put it all into precious metals.

I usually pick up 100oz bars, sometimes a few 10oz if I catch a good deal. Mostly from reputable online dealers, but I’ve made a couple of decent local buys too. My Gold IRA holdings are pushing close to $100k now with what I've added and the price movement. Watching the market fluctuate is definitely a rollercoaster, but I sleep better knowing I've got tangible assets, especially with all the talk about inflation and economic uncertainty. Being in agriculture, you learn pretty quickly that real things hold real value, unlike some digital funny money.

It got me thinking, now that I’ve hit my initial silver target, what are other long-term stackers doing? Are you diversifying into gold more heavily? Keeping a 90/10 or 80/20 silver to gold ratio? I've been eyeing some 1oz gold coins, but I still feel like silver has more room to run in the long term. I’ve also been using that Tax Calculator tool on Gold IRA Blueprint to constantly check out the implications of a future withdrawal – helps me plan way ahead, especially with these bigger numbers.

What are your exit strategies looking like for your silver stack? Are you holding until a specific price point, or more of a time-based horizon? I'm curious what everyone else's long-term play is. For now, I'm just enjoying the peace of mind.

That's a seriously impressive stack, congrats! I remember hitting my first 100oz back in '08 and feeling like I was king of the mountain. After 10k, you're probably looking at serious storage considerations, if you haven't already. Personally, I diversified a good chunk of my physical silver into an IRA-approved stash of eagles and maples back in 2015 when the premium wasn't quite so spicy. Think long-term tax advantages before you double down on another 10k physical.

Dude, congrats on hitting that massive goal! 10k oz is seriously impressive, especially in a Gold IRA. I can totally relate to that feeling of accomplishment. I don't have anywhere near that amount, but I remember the satisfaction of hitting my 100oz silver goal a few years back. It felt like a real milestone. Now I'm just slowly accumulating gold, trying to decide when to make the leap to a bigger bar. What a journey, right?

Congrats, that's a serious milestone! 10k ounces is no joke.

You mentioned it's "physical silver bars in your Gold IRA." How does that work logistically? Did you just buy bars and tell the IRA custodian about them, or did you have to use a specific dealer that handles IRA-approved silver?

Congrats on hitting your goal! That's a serious stack. While it's awesome to hit those big numbers, I always wonder if there's a point where diversification within your metals becomes more important than just amassing more of one type. Maybe branching out into some platinum or palladium, or even some allocated gold, could be a smart move, especially if you're looking at long-term wealth preservation. Just a thought!

Huge congrats on hitting that 10k oz mark! That's seriously impressive. Since you're looking for what's next, have you considered diversifying into platinum or palladium for your IRA? They often fly under the radar compared to gold and silver but can offer some interesting opportunities, especially with industrial demand.

You might find some good insights on their market dynamics over at Platinum Investment Council or the WPIC's reports. Could be a good way to keep that stacking momentum going!

Dude, congrats on hitting 10k oz! That's a serious milestone and something to be proud of. I completely get that feeling of accomplishment.

My own "what's next" moment came after hitting 1,000 oz. I ended up diversifying into some platinum for a while, just to spread things out a bit. Definitely curious what others are doing after reaching their silver targets.

Congrats on hitting that milestone, quite a feat! For me, personally, once I hit a certain physical silver threshold, around what you're at, my focus shifted quite a bit. The storage and liquidity challenges for that much physical became more apparent, especially living here in Boston with limited options. I started looking hard into allocating more capital towards allocated gold within my Gold IRA Blueprint account, specifically for the diversification and ease of management. It’s a different beast, but worth considering for the next phase.

Congrats on that milestone! 10,000 ounces is seriously impressive. My question for you, or anyone else with significant holdings, is how are you thinking about liquidity for such a large physical stack? Are you diversified with something like a Gold IRA, or is it all physical? I always wonder about the logistics of offloading that much if needed.

That's an insane milestone, congrats! Makes my 5k goal feel pretty small. For anyone else who's on the stacking journey and trying to figure out if Gold or Silver is the right move for their IRA, I found this *comparison chart* from Equity Trust incredibly helpful. Breaks down the tax implications and storage differences really clearly. Wish I'd seen it before my first silver purchase in 2021 when prices were crazy.

Congrats on that silver goal, that's a massive stack! For me, after hitting my initial silver targets, the natural progression was beefing up my gold IRA. The stability and capital preservation aspects of precious metals, especially gold, really appeal when you're looking at long-term retirement savings. Considering a 401k rollover to capture those tax advantages has been key for my portfolio here in Philly.

That's an impressive stack, congrats! I've been focusing more on gold for my IRA, especially after seeing how silver prices can be a bit more volatile year-over-year. Had a decent chunk of physical silver back in 2011 too, and while it paid off then, I've diversified heavily into gold and a mix of dividend stocks since. For long-term capital preservation, gold just feels a bit more foundational to me.

That's a serious goal, congrats! I'm still building out my gold side, but I can definitely appreciate the discipline there. For folks thinking about diversifying beyond just weight, I've found the interactive charts on GoldPrice.org (not an affiliate, just a fan) super helpful for visualizing historical gold-to-silver ratios. It's a game-changer for understanding market trends and making informed rebalancing decisions – especially from here in KC, where we tend to get an earful about the next big thing.

Congrats on the 10k oz, that's a serious milestone. But honestly, for anyone else reading this, chasing a physical silver goal like that today feels a bit like optimizing for the Titanic's deck chairs. I've got a decent stack myself, but since 2020, my focus has really shifted – the *real* play now is about owning the miners and the refiners, not just the metal itself. Diversify into the picks and shovels, folks, before the landscape changes even more.

This mirrors what I've been seeing too. The macro environment right now is making a strong case for physical metals.

@Michelle Collins That's a seriously impressive stack, congrats! I remember hitting my first 100oz back in '08 and feeling like I was king of the mountain. After 10k, you're probably looking at serious storage consider... Yeah, storage definitely becomes the next big headache after that kind of volume. I'm not at 10k oz of silver, but my Gold IRA portfolio is in that $350k range, and the logistics of securing physical assets – even held by the custodian – are always on my mind. Speaking of long-term planning, if you're getting anywhere close to retirement age, or even just thinking about it, figuring out those future RMDs is crucial. I found the RMD Calculator on GIRAB super helpful for getting a handle on what might be coming down the pike. It was a real eye-opener for projecting how those Required Minimum Distributions might impact my gold holdings.
