Just diversified my Gold IRA with silver - feeling good about it, anyone else?

Thought I'd share a recent move I made with my retirement planning. I've had a Gold IRA for a while now, probably around $700k in holdings, mostly physical gold I've accumulated over the last 8-9 years. With all the uncertainty with interest rates, inflation, and just the general global economic picture, I've been getting a bit antsy about having all my eggs in the gold basket, even though I'm a big believer in its long-term store of value.
So, after talking with my advisor and doing a bunch of my own research, I decided to allocate about 15% of that to silver within the same IRA structure. It's not a massive shift, but enough to feel like I've added another layer of diversification. For me, living in Memphis and running a logistics company, I see firsthand how many industries rely on silver, from electronics to solar. It just feels like it has a strong industrial demand floor that gold doesn't necessarily have in the same way. It also seems to follow gold's movements, but with its own volatility, which could be a good thing if there's a significant industrial boom.
I'm about five years out from fully stepping back from the day-to-day operations of my business (got my son ready to take the reins), so preserving capital and reasonable growth without taking on wild risks is the name of the game right now. This silver move feels like a calculated way to do that. Anyone else here diversified their precious metals IRA to include silver? What were your reasons, and how has it performed for you?
