Is platinum the next big thing or a trap? My Gold IRA is set, but...

Okay, so I've been deep diving into my retirement planning lately. Government employee here, pushing towards that pension, but definitely looking to supplement with my Gold IRA. Currently sitting on about $75k in gold, mostly physical, some in an unallocated account for liquidity. I'm 48 this year, and my goal is to hit $120k by 55. We're talking Albuquerque, NM, cost of living is okay, but I want to be comfortable, not just "okay."
My question for you all is about platinum. I've been watching its price movements, and it feels like it's been pretty beat up compared to gold lately. I've seen some articles suggesting it's heavily undervalued, especially with the push for hydrogen fuel cells and increased industrial demand potentially on the horizon. My Gold IRA custodian offers platinum, and I'm seriously considering diverting a small portion of my next contribution, maybe $5k-$10k, into platinum instead of more gold. Call it a diversified bet, or maybe just shiny object syndrome.
What are your thoughts? Is anyone here holding platinum in their precious metals IRA? Or do you think it's too speculative compared to the steady performance of gold? I've used that Gold vs Stocks Comparison tool a bunch, and gold has consistently shown its mettle against the S&P 500, especially over the last 10 years. Part of me thinks, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," and just keep stacking gold. But another part is whispering, "What if platinum goes parabolic and you miss out?"
I'm feeling a bit torn here. I definitely don't want to jeopardize my existing gains or my overall strategy. Any advice or experiences with platinum in a retirement context would be hugely appreciated. Is the potential upside worth the added risk, or should I just stick to my precious yellow?
