Inflation's eating away at everything - glad I locked in my Gold IRA years ago. Anyone else feeling this squeeze?

Jesus, every trip to the grocery store or gas pump lately feels like a punch to the gut. I just filled up my Escalade this morning and nearly had a heart attack. I know I’m lucky enough not to feel it too hard in the day-to-day, but when you look at the big picture for long-term investments, it’s genuinely concerning. My real estate portfolio in Aspen is still holding strong, obviously, but the margins on new developments are getting thinner with material and labor costs.
I’ve been a heavy metals guy for years, well before this current inflation nightmare. Started diversifying into a Gold IRA back in ‘18 after chatting with a buddy at a Broncos game. Best damn decision I ever made for protecting my retirement nest egg. It’s hard to watch my traditional investments get chipped away by this ridiculous inflation, but my gold and silver holdings are really holding their own, which is a huge relief. It honestly feels like the only thing providing any real stability right now.
Anyone else feeling this squeeze on their portfolios? Especially those with significant traditional holdings? I know not everyone’s in a position to throw down a few million into precious metals, but even at a smaller scale, I think everyone should be looking into some kind of inflation hedge. If you’re even remotely thinking about a Gold IRA, seriously, check out the Eligibility Checker. It’s a quick way to see if you even qualify for one, and honestly, the peace of mind knowing a chunk of your retirement is out of the dollar’s reach is priceless right now. I'm sitting on a 5M+ portfolio, and I'm still feeling like I need to be vigilant.
What are others doing to protect their capital? Are you seeing more people in traditional finance start to eye alternative assets like gold or other commodities? I'm curious what strategies other investors are deploying, especially for those looking at a 5-10 year horizon.
