Just wanted to share a bit about my journey with gold, especially in a Gold IRA. Been holding physical gold since the mid-2000s, mostly offshore in a vault, but opened a Gold IRA a few years back after some conversations with my financial advisor when we started planning for retirement. Best move I've made in a long time for future security, especially seeing what the markets have been doing lately.
My main business is real estate development up here in Aspen, and as you can imagine, that's been a wild ride. But having that diversified portfolio, with a significant chunk in gold, has been huge for peace of mind. Just closed on a 7-figure land deal that was entirely possible because I had the liquidity and the confidence that my other assets weren't evaporating overnight. Gold isn't just about protection; it's about stability when everything else feels like it's on a rollercoaster. I've always considered it a foundational hedge, especially when you've got millions tied up in illiquid assets like I do.
Honestly contemplating rolling over even more of my traditional IRA into a Gold IRA. My metals holdings overall are probably pushing 15-20% of my total portfolio now, and it’s served me incredibly well. The consistency, even through all the market noise, has been truly impressive. Anyone else here feel like their gold holdings (IRA or otherwise) have been a major factor in recent successes or big financial moves?
