Gold price swings got me thinking... anyone else

Man, these gold price movements lately have been a real rollercoaster. One day it's up, the next it’s taking a breather. I've been in this game for about 15 years now, started really getting serious with my gold IRA back when I was still elbow-deep in the oil fields here outside Dallas. Had a good chunk of my retirement in the company 401(k), but after seeing a couple of market corrections really ding my paper assets, I started diversifying hard into physical gold. Best decision I ever made for overall portfolio stability, honestly. I've got a decent chunk, probably in the low six figures dedicated to gold in my IRA at this point, maybe 20-25% of my total portfolio which sits comfortably in the $500k-$1M range.
My strategy has always been pretty straightforward: buy on dips, hold for the long haul, and use gold as protection against inflation and market volatility. This recent run-up, though, has me wondering if it’s getting a little frothy. Part of me wants to trim a bit and lock in some gains, especially for some of the earlier purchases. But then I remember all the geopolitical instability and the never-ending money printing, and I think, "nope, hold tight." It’s a constant internal debate.
I was actually just looking at that Gold vs Stocks Comparison tool yesterday. It’s pretty eye-opening to see the long-term performance, especially over the last 10 years, and how gold consistently acts as that stabilizer. It really reinforces my conviction most of the time. But even with that data, the short-term noise sometimes gets to me. How are you all feeling about the current price action?
Are any of you adjusting your buy/hold/sell strategies based on these recent jumps? Or are you just sticking to your long-term plan no matter what? I'm curious to hear from others in a similar boat, especially those with significant holdings in their IRAs. My wife just rolls her eyes when I start talking about this stuff at dinner, so I need some like-minded folks to bounce ideas off of!
