Gold just smashed ATHs - how are you guys rebalancing?
- •Well, that was a pretty wild ride, watching gold absolutely blast past its previous all-time highs.
- •Honestly, my heart was practically beating out of my chest seeing it push above $2,300.
- •I’ve got a decent chunk of my $200k IRA portfolio in physical gold held in a Gold IRA , probably sitting around 15-20% when I last checked.
Well, that was a pretty wild ride, watching gold absolutely blast past its previous all-time highs. Honestly, my heart was practically beating out of my chest seeing it push above $2,300. I’ve got a decent chunk of my $200k IRA portfolio in physical gold held in a Gold IRA, probably sitting around 15-20% when I last checked. Being in the tourism game here in Savannah, I’ve seen enough economic swells and dips to know that diversification isn't just a buzzword, it's survival. Gold's always been my go-to for inflation protection and a hedge against the crazy stuff the Fed decides to do next.
My question for you all is, how are you thinking about this now? Are you holding steady, taking some profits off the table, or even considering adding more on pullbacks? I’m feeling a bit torn. On one hand, the stability it provides is exactly why I got into a Gold IRA in the first place, and I don't want to mess with a good thing. On the other, the gains are substantial, and the rational part of my brain is telling me to at least consider rebalancing a little to lock some of that in, maybe diversify into other precious metals like silver or even some platinum.
I’ve been doing a lot of reading, trying to get different perspectives on what drives these surges – geopolitical tensions, inflation fears, general market uncertainty. It’s a lot to keep up with, especially when you're running a business. I've found the Learning Center at Gold IRA Blueprint pretty helpful for wrapping my head around some of the broader economic factors and historical trends related to gold. It’s got a ton of articles and even some case studies.
What are your personal strategies looking like at this point? Is anyone else thinking about their allocations? I'm genuinely curious to hear what other investors with similar portfolio sizes are doing. Or am I just overthinking it, and should I just sit back and enjoy the ride?
