Gold IRA storage fees - what's a good rate?

Okay, so I'm just starting out with my Gold IRA, opened it a few months ago after reading literally everything I could find. Got about $15k in it right now, mostly gold eagles and a few silver rounds. For a Charleston guy in my late 20s, I feel pretty good about getting this started early. My current custodian charges a flat annual fee for storage, which feels okay for the amount I have, but I'm trying to plan ahead for when that balance eventually grows.
My concern is, what happens when I hit, say, $50k or $100k? My understanding is that some custodians switch to a percentage-based fee at a higher threshold, or maybe they just keep the flat fee but it starts to feel like a steal for them if your precious metals are worth a ton more. I'm trying to figure out what's considered competitive or even "good" in terms of storage fees once your portfolio gets a bit heftier. I've seen everything from $100 flat to 0.5% yearly, and it's hard to compare apples to apples.
Does anyone have experience with different fee structures? Is there a point where it makes sense to switch custodians just because of storage fees? Any red flags to watch out for, or maybe some overlooked benefits of one fee structure over another? I'm committed to this for the long haul, so understanding these costs now feels super important.
