Hey everyone, Gold IRA vet James Wilson here from NYC. Just wanted to share a recent experience that really hit home, and hopefully, it helps some of you newer folks out there. As many of you know, I’m a retiree from Wall Street and I've got a pretty heavy allocation in physical metals in my IRA – think somewhere in the $1M-$5M range now. I’ve been through the ups and downs, the research, the custodian changes, you name it.
Recently, I stumbled upon this little gem called the Gold IRA Quiz. Now, normally I'd scroll right past anything that sounds like a "quiz," but for whatever reason, I clicked it. And honestly? I wish I had taken this quiz before I ever made my first Gold IRA purchase years ago. Back then, I was drowning in information – different coin types, storage options, fees that felt like they were written in invisible ink. I spent weeks, probably months, trying to piece together the best approach. I ended up making some good choices, but also some choices that cost me extra in fees or missed opportunities because I simply didn't have the holistic view I needed.
