Gold IRA: My thoughts on inflation protection (and a question for you all!)

Been seeing a lot of chatter lately about inflation, and it's reminding me why I got into gold in the first place back after '08. That whole mess really spooked me, seeing my pension take a hit and feeling like my hard-earned savings were just… eroding. I wasn't rich then, definitely not now, but I had about $100k saved up from my teaching career, and I started looking for ways to protect it. That's when I heard about Gold IRAs.
I ended up rolling over about $75k of my old 403(b) into a Gold IRA, mostly in Eagles and some Canadian Maples. Living here in Phoenix, it's nice to know I have something tangible, not just numbers on a screen, that isn't connected to the whims of the stock market. Over the years, I've watched the value fluctuate, of course, but it generally holds its own, especially when the dollar starts looking shaky. It gives me a real sense of security in retirement, knowing that no matter what crazy stuff comes out of Washington, I have this bedrock.
With all the talk about rising prices at the grocery store and gas pumps (seriously, $4 a gallon again?!), I'm feeling validated in my decision. I’m comfortable with my current allocation, probably sitting around $120k in gold now after some modest growth and rolling over a bit more a few years ago. But I’m curious, for those of you with similar portfolios (say, under $250k), are you doing anything else specifically for inflation protection? Or are you just sticking with your current gold holdings and riding it out like me? Always interested to hear other perspectives from this community!
