Gold IRA for a smaller portfolio vs. the big players - thoughts?

Okay, so I've been seriously considering rolling over part of my old 401k into a precious metals IRA, specifically gold. I'm an accountant here in Atlanta, so I'm pretty familiar with the tax benefits and want to leverage that diversification. My current 401k is sitting around $180k, and I'm thinking of moving about $50k-$75k into gold. Nothing crazy, just want to get some exposure and hedge against inflation.
The thing is, when I search for "best gold IRA companies," it feels like every list is geared towards folks with huge portfolios, like $250k+ just for the gold portion. I'm seeing names like Augusta Precious Metals, Goldco, Birch Gold Group come up consistently. Their minimums sometimes feel a bit steep for the amount I'm looking to invest. I don't want to choose a company that's going to hit me with disproportionately high fees just because my initial investment isn't six figures. I've also been looking at physical silver bars for direct purchase (outside the IRA), but for the retirement funds, it's gotta be an IRA compliant setup.
Has anyone here with a similar portfolio size (let's say under $100k for the gold IRA specifically) had a really positive experience with a particular company? I'm looking for transparency on fees (setup, storage, annual maintenance), good customer service, and a decent selection of IRA-approved gold. Not necessarily talking about exotic coins, just your standard bullion that meets the fineness requirements.
Any insights from fellow "smaller" investors would be super helpful. Are there reputable companies that are more accommodating to these portfolio sizes, or am I overthinking this and the bigger players are still the way to go? I'm trying to avoid analysis paralysis here!
