Been following this sub for a while now, super insightful! I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a gold IRA, but feeling a little overwhelmed with all the options out there. I work as a secretary for an oil company here in Tulsa, and a lot of the execs I work for have been quietly moving some of their assets into precious metals. It got me thinking, especially with all the talk about inflation and the economy.
My portfolio isn't massive like some of the posts I see here – I'm looking to roll over maybe $150,000-$200,000 from an old 401k. I've heard some companies have pretty high minimums, which makes me a bit nervous. I guess I'm what you'd call a "smaller investor" in this space, even though it's a huge chunk of my own savings! Are there specific companies known for being more friendly to people not dropping half a million right off the bat?
I'm looking for reliability and good customer service more than anything. I'm not trying to day trade gold; this is definitely a long-term hold strategy for me. Any recommendations from folks who’ve been through this process with a similar-sized portfolio would be amazing. What were your experiences? Any companies you'd tell me to absolutely avoid?
I've been doing a ton of research, checking out different reviews, and even found this site called the Learning Center which has some really detailed articles. It's great for understanding the basics, but hearing real-world experiences from people like you guys would be even better. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
