Gold IRA fees - anybody have a good comparison?

Trying to make heads or tails of these Gold IRA fees, and it's honestly making my head spin. I've got a decent chunk, around $750k in my retirement portfolio, mostly in tech stocks and some real estate, but I'm looking to diversify a good $150k or so into precious metals through an IRA. Been running my logistics company here in Memphis for 20 years and I'm really starting to think about succession planning in the next 5-7 years, so capital preservation is becoming a huge deal for me. I just want to protect what I've built, you know?
Every gold IRA company I talk to seems to have a different fee structure. Some are percentage-based, others flat annual fees, then there are transaction costs, storage fees (segregated vs. unsegregated – another rabbit hole!), and what feels like a dozen other little charges they try to sneak in. It's tough to get a straight answer on what the total cost is going to be over the long haul. I'm trying to compare custodians like Equity Trust vs. Kingdom Trust vs. Strata, and then the dealers on top of that. It’s a lot to process.
Has anyone done a solid, apples-to-apples comparison of fees for larger portfolios? I'm talking about a decent transfer, not just a small contribution. What are the common gotchas I should be looking out for? I'm particularly interested in what people in the $500k to $1M portfolio range are paying – does the fee structure change significantly at these levels? Feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options and the sales pressure from some of these companies.
I actually stumbled across this Gold IRA Quiz that was pretty helpful for giving me a quick overview of what a Gold IRA even is, but it doesn't really go deep into the nitty-gritty of fee comparisons. Any personal experiences or recommendations for transparent companies would be massively appreciated. Just want to make an informed decision here.
