Okay, so gold is absolutely ripping right now, hitting new ATHs left and right. My Gold IRA, which I started building up a few years back, is looking pretty sweet. I retired from the Navy here in San Diego back in 2021 after a long career, and financial security has always been a top priority ā hence why a good chunk of my retirement savings, probably close to $350k at this point, is sitting in physical gold within that IRA structure. It's been my ultimate hedge against inflation and market volatility, and frankly, I've slept better knowing it's there.
I'm feeling pretty good about the decision to diversify into precious metals when I did. This current run is just reinforcing that it was the right move for someone like me who values stability above all else. I remember feeling a bit of FOMO when the stock market was just climbing endlessly, but seeing gold perform like this when everything else feels so uncertain is incredibly validating. It's not about trying to get rich quick, it's about preserving wealth.
Now, my question for the community is, what's everyone's take on this current surge? Do you think this is just the beginning of a larger move driven by global instability and continued inflation fears, or are we approaching a point where a correction is likely? Iām not looking to time the market, especially with something as long-term as my Gold IRA, but Iām always curious about different perspectives.
Are any of you considering rebalancing, perhaps taking some profits if you're in a taxable account, or are you just holding steady and enjoying the ride like I mostly am? For those with larger precious metal exposures, what's your strategy here? Iām constantly learning, and appreciate any insights you all might have!
