Finally seeing some real gains from my Silver IRA, feels

Been HODL’ing physical silver in my IRA for what feels like forever, and honestly, there were times, a few years back, I wondered if I was just being stubborn. My buddies at the tables would always joke about my "shiny rocks" instead of "real stocks." But man, seeing the price action lately? It's a sweet, sweet vindication after all those flat years. I'm sitting on about $230k in that account right now, and a good chunk of that increase has been in the last 18 months, feels like. The volatility is still there, but the overall trend has been exactly what I was hoping for when I set this up over a decade ago.
For those of you who've been around the block in Vegas like me, you know a thing or two about calculated risks. I've seen fortunes made and lost in a single night. My approach to my retirement was always to diversify, and physical precious metals felt like a solid, tangible hedge against all the digital craziness and fiat fluctuations. It's not about getting rich quick, but rather preserving purchasing power long-term. This isn't my only retirement vehicle, but it's definitely becoming one of my stronger performers.
My initial investment chunks were a lot smaller, just dipping my toes after the 2008 crash. Then I really started building it up more seriously between 2012-2015. Watched it fluctuate, stayed patient. Now, I'm genuinely considering taking some profits from the silver and perhaps rebalancing a bit into some gold, just to keep things diversified within the precious metals space. What are some of your thoughts on rebalancing within a metals IRA? Anyone else in a similar boat, feeling good about their long-term silver play?
It’s a different kind of buzz than hitting a royal flush, but seeing that portfolio value climb steadily is a pretty satisfying feeling. Just wanted to share some positivity for those who might be feeling a bit antsy with their own precious metals holdings. Long-term vision really does pay off sometimes.
