Finally got my wife on board with Gold IRA - anyone else have a slow burn with their spouse?

Took me a good year and a half, but my wife is finally seeing the light with the Gold IRA. When I first brought it up, she was all about "why would we put good money into something that just sits there?" She’s a true believer in tech stocks and the usual market plays, which has obviously been good to us over the years, especially with my bonus coming into play. Our portfolio is sitting comfortably around the high end of the $400k mark right now, mostly in those kinds of investments. So, I get why she was hesitant to shift some of that into something more, well, tangible.
What finally seemed to click for her was when I started bringing up the historical stability of gold, especially compared to the volatility we’ve been seeing lately. We're thinking about starting a family soon, and the idea of preserving wealth for a future generation really resonated. I framed it less as "this is going to make us rich overnight" and more as "this is a solid foundation, a legacy asset, kind of like the old bourbon distilleries I work with – they’ve been around for hundreds of years for a reason." That analogy seemed to sink in better than any market chart I showed her. Plus, with whispers of inflation and all the geopolitical stuff going on, the idea of having a physical asset right out of the market's reach became a lot more appealing.
We're looking to roll over about $50k from an existing IRA, just to start. Enough to feel significant, but not so much that she feels like we're betting the farm. It feels good to finally be on the same page about this. It's not about ditching what we're already doing, but diversifying and adding that layer of security. Did anyone else have to do a lot of convincing with their spouse to get them comfortable with a Gold IRA? What arguments or perspectives finally sealed the deal for them?
