Fees for Gold IRA Rollover - Who are you guys using?
- •Thinking about doing another rollover soon for a chunk of my 401k – probably another $150k or so.
- •Been in gold for a while now, probably 15 years, and my current stack is sitting pretty comfortably between $700k and $800k, depending on the day.

Thinking about doing another rollover soon for a chunk of my 401k – probably another $150k or so. Been in gold for a while now, probably 15 years, and my current stack is sitting pretty comfortably between $700k and $800k, depending on the day. My original custodian was fine, but lately, I've been feeling like their fees are starting to creep up or maybe I'm just getting stingier in my old age! Being a Dallas guy, I'm used to good value, even in the oil fields.
My big question for the community here is: who are you all using for custodians, and what are you seeing in terms of annual fees? I'm talking maintenance, storage, all the usual suspects. I know there's always a cost, but I want to make sure I'm not overpaying. Been out of the 'shopping around' game for a bit since I settled with my current one, so I'm a little out of touch with the current market for those kind of services.
I’ve been eyeing a few different companies online, but it’s hard to get a real apples-to-apples comparison sometimes. Some quote flat fees, some percentages, and then there's the segregated vs. commingled storage debate, which can impact costs too. I even tried out that Gold IRA Calculator on Gold IRA Blueprint just to see some potential returns based on different fee structures, and it really highlighted how much things can add up over time. It’s a pretty neat tool if you haven’t checked it out!
Any insights, recommendations, or even warnings about custodians to avoid would be hugely appreciated. Especially interested if anyone here has gone through a recent rollover and has fresh fee intel. Trying to make the most of this next move!
