Feeling pretty good about my gold (and some silver!) IRA, especially lately!

Just wanted to share a quick thought, maybe hear from some others who've been at this a while. I started seriously looking into gold after '08, got spooked by everything, and decided a portion of my retirement absolutely needed to be outside the traditional markets. I was a teacher for 30 years here in Phoenix, so my pension is solid, but I really wanted some extra security. Ended up rolling over about $150k from an old 403(b) into a Gold IRA, with a little bit of silver mixed in for diversification, back in 2010. Best decision I've made in ages.
I remember some of my colleagues raising eyebrows, asking if I was hoarding for the apocalypse, ha! But seeing the market swings, especially with inflation concerns ramping up, I just feel so much more at peace knowing that chunk of my portfolio is holding its own. It's not about getting rich overnight, it's about preserving value. Honestly, seeing those charts now, I'm just incredibly relieved I pulled the trigger when I did. The peace of mind alone has been worth it.
Anyone else feeling validated in their gold/silver IRA choices right now? Or maybe you're thinking about starting one and have questions for someone who's been through the whole setup process?
P.S. For those in AZ, anyone have good local coin shop recommendations for smaller, personal purchases outside of an IRA? Always good to know trusted spots.
