Feeling good about my silver IRA after checking some data

I've been a quiet lurker on this sub for a while, mostly soaking up everyone's wisdom, but I wanted to share a bit about my own journey with my Gold IRA. As a nurse here in Seattle, retirement planning has always been a big deal for me. I started my Gold IRA about three years ago, initially putting in about $50k from a rollover. My main goal was pure security – I’ve seen enough volatile markets in my lifetime to know I want something tangible for my later years.
My strategy has been pretty simple: mostly gold, but I've been slowly adding silver whenever I feel the timing is right. I’ve probably got around $15k in silver now, and I’m aiming to get it closer to $25k in the next year or so, depending on what the market does. I'm really trying to diversify within the precious metals space to spread out the risk a bit more. It feels good to have a physical asset that's not tied solely to the stock market's whims. Honestly, the thought of having all my retirement savings just numbers on a screen gives me serious anxiety sometimes.
What really got me thinking about posting today was doing some research on the Silver vs Stocks tool on goldirablueprint.com. I've been tracking silver pretty closely, and seeing its performance against the S&P 500 over the past 10 years really put things into perspective. It showed some interesting trends, and it definitely reinforced my decision to not just stick with gold. Being able to visualize that data, alongside what my broker has told me, is super helpful. Has anyone else used that tool? What were your takeaways?
I'm curious to hear from others who are balancing gold and silver in their IRAs, especially those with similar portfolio sizes. What ratio are you aiming for? Any strategies for buying silver that you've found particularly effective? I'm always open to learning new ways to optimize my holdings without taking on crazy risk.
