Feeling good about my gold IRA, but wondering about minimums for others

I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter lately on different subreddits about investing in gold, especially with all the economic uncertainty swirling around. It got me thinking about my own Gold IRA and how glad I am I pulled the trigger on it a few years back.
As a lawyer here in Philly, focused on wealth preservation for myself and my clients, I decided to diversify a chunk of my portfolio – about $750k of my overall assets – into physical gold. The process of setting up the Gold IRA was smoother than I expected, and frankly, it gives me a significant peace of mind knowing a portion of my retirement is in a tangible, historically stable asset. I went with some American Gold Eagles and Canadian Gold Maples – felt good to have established, recognized coins.
My question for the community here is, what are people's experiences or thoughts on the minimum investment requirements for a Gold IRA? I know some companies have a $25k or even $50k floor to even get started, which can be a pretty high barrier for entry for many people who are just starting to explore this as a hedge. I didn't personally run into that issue when I set mine up, but I'm curious if those minimums are changing, or if there are more accessible options out there now for people with smaller portfolios. What have you all seen?
It feels like a crucial topic because, while my focus is on preserving existing wealth, others might be looking to start building that bedrock. Any insights or comparisons on different custodian minimums would be super helpful. Just trying to keep a pulse on the landscape for myself and perhaps pass along good info when asked.
