Feeling a bit lost after setting up my first Gold IRA - any tips from seasoned investors?

Okay, so I finally pulled the trigger and opened a Gold IRA. It's something my husband, God rest his soul, had always talked about, and after he passed last year, I really felt like I needed to get our finances in order and protect what he worked so hard for. I ended up putting about $75,000 into it, mostly from some old mutual funds that just weren't doing much for me anymore.
I’m based here in Raleigh, and the company I went with seemed reputable enough. They walked me through the process, and I have a good mix of American Gold Eagles and some Canadian Maple Leafs. Logically, I know this is a sound move for diversification and inflation protection, especially with how things are looking these days. But honestly? I’m feeling a little… overwhelmed and perhaps a touch anxious. It’s a big chunk of money, and watching it convert from something I could easily see in a bank account to physical metal in a vault somewhere is definitely a shift.
For those of you who've been doing this a while, what's your best advice for a newbie like me? Anything you wish you'd known when you first started? How often do you check in on your holdings? Are there any common mistakes first-timers make that I should watch out for? I’m trying to educate myself as much as possible, and I actually found this "Tax Calculator" tool at https://tax.goldirablueprint.com/ the other day which has been really helpful for understanding the tax implications down the line, but there's just so much to learn.
I guess I'm mostly looking for reassurance and any practical guidance you seasoned investors can offer. It feels good knowing I'm doing something to safeguard our future, but the emotional side of it is a bit more intense than I anticipated. Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can share!
