Hey everyone,
Frank Rivera here from sunny Honolulu. Just wanted to throw something out there and see what the community's thoughts are. I’ve been watching the news lately, especially commentary on the dollar’s purchasing power, and it's got me a little antsy, to be honest. Being retired military, I've seen a fair bit of global economics from a Pacific perspective, and let me tell you, the vibes aren't exactly "stable" right now. My Gold IRA, which is currently sitting comfortably between $500k and $1M, has been a fantastic anchor for me over the years, part of my strategy to secure my and my wife’s retirement. But with all this talk of potential dollar devaluation, I’m starting to wonder if I should be doing more to protect our nest egg.
I remember back when I first started looking into precious metals, my old man, a wise man from way back, always said, "Son, when the paper money gets shaky, the real money shines." That really stuck with me, and it's why a significant portion of my retirement is in physical gold. I even have a few "just because" gold coins for sentimental value, passed down through the family, which remind me of that sentiment. Now, with inflation seemingly higher than we've seen in decades and government spending going through the roof, it feels like that "shaky paper money" scenario might be playing out.
So, here's my question to all of you: Are any of you fellow gold investors feeling this increased concern about dollar devaluation? And if so, are you considering any changes to your precious metals portfolio as a result? I'm not looking to make any knee-jerk reactions, but I'm always open to hearing different strategies and perspectives. Would love to hear what strategies seasoned investors here are considering. My grandkids are getting older, and I want to make sure I'm leaving them something substantial, not something eroded by economic shifts.
Thanks in advance for any insights!
Best regards,
Frank
