Diversifying with silver in my Gold IRA - anyone else?

Thought I'd share a recent move I made with my retirement savings. For a while now, I've had a Gold IRA - started it a few years back when I was getting a bit spooked by market volatility, especially being a nurse and seeing how fragile things can feel. I put in about $75k into gold back then, mostly as a hedge against inflation and just for that peace of mind that comes from having something tangible.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about diversification, even within precious metals. I'm based in Seattle, and you see a lot of tech here, but also a growing awareness of traditional assets. After some research and talking with some folks at Augusta Precious Metals (who I originally set up my Gold IRA with), I decided to add some silver to the mix. It wasn't a huge amount, maybe $15k worth, but enough to feel like I've broadened my exposure. The industrial demand for silver really impressed me, plus it tends to be more volatile than gold, which could mean bigger upside potential if things go a certain way.
My main reason remains the same: retirement security. I’m not looking to get rich quick, but I want to make sure my nest egg is protected from economic downturns. Is anyone else here holding both gold and silver in their IRA? What were your reasons for adding silver, or sticking solely with gold? Curious to hear other perspectives on balancing these two assets for long-term growth and protection.
