Diversified into physical silver, best move I ever made

Been seeing a lot of skepticism lately about precious metals, especially silver, and wanted to share my own experience. I retired from the Street a few years back – had a good run, but always kept a significant chunk of my portfolio in metals. Started with gold back in the late 90s, when everyone was still laughing at the "gold bugs." My old CIO used to call it my "doomsday insurance."
Fast forward to 2008, and that "insurance" bought me a hell of a lot more than peace of mind. But even after that, I noticed something. Gold was doing its thing, but silver felt... undervalued. So around 2012, I started diversifying some of my physical gold holdings into silver bars. Started with some 10oz bars, then moved into kilos. Didn't go crazy, maybe 10-15% of my metals portfolio, but it added up over time. People thought I was nuts, chasing the "poor man's gold."
Well, turns out that "poor man's gold" has been doing some heavy lifting for me since then. The industrial demand, the limited supply – it's a different animal than gold, and I’ve seen some serious gains. Living comfortably here in my Tribeca condo, enjoying retirement, and honestly, a big part of that is due to those silver allocations. My Gold IRA is still heavily gold, but I built up a nice stash of physical silver outside of that.
Anyone else here feel like silver gets overlooked? Or am I just a lucky old Wall Streeter who guessed right? Curious to hear some other perspectives, especially from those who've been in this game for a while.
