    Hey everyone,

Just read this article/video about the Lady Fortuna Pamp Gold Bar, and wow, that 10 oz bar is a thing of beauty! I've always admired the aesthetics of the Pamp Fortuna series, and seeing it in the 10 oz size just makes it even more impressive. I've got a few 1oz Pamps in my stack, mostly for the fractional appeal and liquidity, but a 10 oz... that feels like a real statement piece. I'm definitely considering adding some larger bars to my portfolio, especially as I get closer to retirement. My father-in-law always swore by larger bars for significant wealth preservation, and I'm starting to see his point. Plus, I recently used the Gold IRA Blueprint tool to run some numbers for my long-term gold holdings, and it really put into perspective how much of a difference even a few larger bars can make to the overall value for an IRA. It's a handy tool if you haven't checked it out!

My main concern with the larger bars, of course, is the premium when buying and the spread when eventually selling. While the aesthetics are amazing, I'm always trying to balance that with the practical investment side. But then again, a significant chunk of my portfolio is already in more utilitarian forms of gold, so maybe a few of these beautiful Fortuna bars wouldn't hurt, especially for bragging rights when the grandkids come over, haha. For those of you who stack larger bars, do you lean more towards these highly recognizable, aesthetically pleasing designs, or do you prioritize the lowest premium possible regardless of the design? I'm genuinely curious to hear what others' strategies are here. Are these 10 oz Fortunas something you'd actively stack, or do you view them more as a collector's item?

Seriously, that Lady Fortuna bar is a classic. I picked one up a couple years back when I was first dipping my toes into physical gold, mostly as a 'pretty' piece for my safe. Didn't realize how much the premiums would jump on PAMP stuff, but glad I did. It’s got that undeniable appeal.

Those Lady Fortuna bars are beautiful, no doubt. But honestly, if you're looking at gold bars for an IRA, you're better off going with something like a Perth Mint or Valcambi CombiBar. Much lower premiums over spot, and easier to liquidate if you ever need to. Aesthetics are great, but for investment, focus on the metal, not the art.

I've always found the premium on those highly stylized bars like the Lady Fortuna a bit perplexing for a pure investment vehicle. Don't get me wrong, they're beautiful, but my focus has always been on maximizing ounces per dollar. I remember back in '08 when everyone was scrambling for any gold they could get, nobody cared how pretty the bar was, just that it was .999+ fine. For my larger allocations, I'm purely utilitarian – stick with the standard 10oz or kilo bars from recognized mints, often even COMEX approved, to keep those premiums razor thin.

Honestly, I don't get the hype for collectible bars like the Fortuna. For my Gold IRA in Nashville, I've always prioritized weight and purity over fancy designs, especially when those designs tack on a decent premium. I'd rather have an extra gram or two of gold than a pretty picture on the same budget; maybe I'm alone in that.

Man, seeing that Lady Fortuna bar just brought back memories. I remember getting started with gold back in '18, bought a couple of these from a dealer in Fresno, thinking I was hot stuff. It was before I even knew about GIRAB and realized how much I was overpaying on premiums then. Still, a beautiful bar and I'm glad I held onto them.

I get the aesthetic appeal of a Lady Fortuna, truly I do. But honestly, if you're buying anything other than a plain old government-minted coin for your *IRA*, you're probably paying an unnecessary premium. Just seems like chasing collectible value when the whole point is tax-advantaged wealth preservation, not showing off pretty bars.
