Hey everyone,
Just read this article/video about the Lady Fortuna Pamp Gold Bar, and wow, that 10 oz bar is a thing of beauty! I've always admired the aesthetics of the Pamp Fortuna series, and seeing it in the 10 oz size just makes it even more impressive. I've got a few 1oz Pamps in my stack, mostly for the fractional appeal and liquidity, but a 10 oz... that feels like a real statement piece. I'm definitely considering adding some larger bars to my portfolio, especially as I get closer to retirement. My father-in-law always swore by larger bars for significant wealth preservation, and I'm starting to see his point. Plus, I recently used the Gold IRA Blueprint tool to run some numbers for my long-term gold holdings, and it really put into perspective how much of a difference even a few larger bars can make to the overall value for an IRA. It's a handy tool if you haven't checked it out!
My main concern with the larger bars, of course, is the premium when buying and the spread when eventually selling. While the aesthetics are amazing, I'm always trying to balance that with the practical investment side. But then again, a significant chunk of my portfolio is already in more utilitarian forms of gold, so maybe a few of these beautiful Fortuna bars wouldn't hurt, especially for bragging rights when the grandkids come over, haha. For those of you who stack larger bars, do you lean more towards these highly recognizable, aesthetically pleasing designs, or do you prioritize the lowest premium possible regardless of the design? I'm genuinely curious to hear what others' strategies are here. Are these 10 oz Fortunas something you'd actively stack, or do you view them more as a collector's item?
