Custodian fees — what's everyone else seeing out there?

Okay, so I've been doing my yearly portfolio review, and man, these custodian fees always stick in my craw a bit. I've got a decent chunk, about $180k in my Gold IRA with Augusta Precious Metals, and I'm staring down another annual fee for storage and administration. They've been great, don't get me wrong – the setup was smooth and the communication has been solid. My concern isn't really with Augusta specifically, but more with the general landscape of these fees. I'm paying around $250 a year combined for storage and admin, which feels... fine? But is "fine" the best I can do? I know what it means to manage risk and understand the value of secure storage for physical assets, especially with what's happening with the dollar lately. I've seen enough economic uncertainty in my career to know that hedging with gold was a smart move for my retirement.
I'm trying to figure out if it's worth shopping around for a different custodian just based on fees, or if the hassle of transferring everything outweighs potential savings. Has anyone here done a deep dive into custodian fees recently? Are there companies that just charge per ounce, or is it mostly percentage-based on the portfolio value, capped at a certain amount? What are folks paying on portfolios in the $100k-$250k range? Any hidden gems out there with lower costs?
I'm happy with my gold allocation and the peace of mind it gives me, but a few hundred bucks annually can add up over time. Just curious to hear if others have found significant differences or if it's generally all in the same ballpark.
