Birch Gold Group for smaller accounts? (Teacher here!)

Okay, so I'm a teacher in Columbus, OH, and I've been dipping my toes into the whole Gold IRA thing. I started with a really small amount, just under $10k, because that's what I could realistically transfer without feeling like I was emptying my entire savings. I've been looking at Birch Gold Group, mostly because I've seen a ton of their ads, and honestly, their website seems pretty user-friendly.
My main concern is that I feel like a lot of these companies really cater to the folks with massive portfolios. I'm talking six figures plus. When I called Birch Gold for more information, they were super helpful, but I still got the vibe that my little under 10k probably wasn't a huge priority for them. They mentioned a minimum for direct purchases, which is expected, but I'm trying to roll over an old 401k, and the fees are what I'm really trying to understand for a smaller account like mine.
Has anyone here used Birch Gold Group for a relatively small account, say under $50k? What was your experience like? I'm just looking for some honest feedback on their fees for smaller investors and their customer service once you're an actual client, not just a potential lead. I'm really trying to make smart moves with my money, especially with the current economic stuff going on, and gold feels like a solid bet.
Also, any Columbus-area folks here who have local recommendations for Gold IRAs or even just good dealers for buying rounds? I'm mostly focused on the IRA for now, but always good to know!
