Birch Gold for smaller accounts - my experience

I've been working in the casino industry out here in Vegas for like, two decades now. Seen a lot of ups and downs, know a thing or two about hedging bets and managing risk. Always been pretty heavy in stocks, but after seeing a few too many market jitters and the general uncertainty, I started looking into diversifying. Specifically, gold.
My initial thought was to dump a big chunk into it, but decided to test the waters first with a smaller portion of my portfolio β about $70k-$80k to start. After researching a bunch of companies, I landed on Birch Gold Group. Their reputation seemed solid and they had good reviews for customer service. The process was surprisingly smooth. They walked me through setting up the IRA, choosing the metals (went with mostly gold Eagles and a bit of silver), and getting everything transferred. No high-pressure sales, which I really appreciated. Communication was great throughout.
It's only been about 18 months, so I'm not expecting massive returns yet, but it's been comforting seeing that part of my wealth hold steady while other parts of my portfolio have beenβ¦ a bit more exciting, shall we say. It feels like a smart play for capital preservation, especially with all the economic headwinds. I've been keeping an eye on the Gold vs Stocks Comparison tool and it's pretty clear that gold has its moments. For a 10-year period, itβs a good reminder of how it can smooth out the ride. Anyone else with a smaller account size go with Birch Gold? Whatβs your take?
Thinking about adding another $20k-$30k into it next year, depending on how things shake out with the market. Just curious about others' experiences and if anyone else found Birch Gold a good fit for their initial foray into IRAs with metals.
