Augusta Precious Metals - My 2 Year Check-In (KY investor)

Been meaning to post this for a while, given how many questions pop up about Augusta. Just hit my two-year anniversary holding with them, wanted to share my experience for anyone on the fence. I'm sitting on a portfolio just shy of $400k, mostly in S&P 500 ETFs, but I've got about $75k with Augusta in my Gold IRA.
Frankly, the whole process was smoother than I expected. When I first looked into Gold IRAs a couple years back, I was a bit skeptical – lots of noise out there. But after talking to a few companies, Augusta just felt… right. Their team, especially my account rep, was incredibly patient. I'm a bourbon guy, so I appreciate a legacy business that knows its stuff and takes the time to explain things thoroughly, without rushing you. We probably had three or four calls before I even committed, just going over the mechanics, the storage options, the specific coins and bars available. Never felt pressured to buy, which was a huge contrast to some of the other places I sniffed around.
The actual rollover from my existing IRA was painless. I was dreading a mountain of paperwork, but they pretty much handled everything. The metals arrived at the Delaware Depository right on schedule, and I got all the confirmation documents promptly. Performance-wise, it's done exactly what I wanted it to do: act as a hedge. It’s not going to blow the doors off like some of my tech stocks did in the past, but it’s provided a comforting stability. Given the inflation we've seen and the general market jitters lately, I'm genuinely glad I pulled the trigger. It’s a small but mighty piece of my overall financial security, and honestly, it helps me sleep better at night knowing a portion of my retirement isn't tied directly to the whims of the stock market.
Anyone else have a similar experience, or entirely different? Always curious to hear other perspectives on this. What are your thoughts on precious metals as a hedge right now, with everything going on globally?
