Anyone else eyeing silver for inflation protection?

I’ve been invested in a Gold IRA for a few years now, got about $75k in it, and honestly, it’s been a calm in the storm of everything else going on. My husband and I are farmers out here near Kansas City, and you see firsthand how much prices are jumping for everything – fuel, fertilizer, equipment parts. It’s enough to make you pull your hair out! That’s why I’ve always been a big believer in tangible wealth, something you can truly hold onto, unlike those paper promises.
Lately, with all the talk about inflation just spiraling out of control, I’ve been thinking more and more about diversifying my precious metals portfolio a bit. My Gold IRA has done its job beautifully stabilizing things, but I’ve heard a lot of whispers about silver really taking off if inflation keeps up. I mean, besides being a monetary metal, it’s got all those industrial uses too, right? Seems like a pretty good dual threat.
I’m considering maybe opening up a Silver IRA with another $20k or so, just to spread things out and get some exposure there. It feels like a smart move to protect whatever gains we’ve made and make sure our retirement savings aren’t just getting eaten away by rising costs. What are y'all thinking about silver right now? Are you adding more into your precious metals IRAs specifically because of inflation fears, or do you think gold is still the main go-to?
Any thoughts from folks who've diversified into silver recently would be greatly appreciated! Just trying to navigate these crazy financial waters one day at a time.
