Added Silver to My Gold IRA - Thoughts?

Finally pulled the trigger and diversified a bit more in my precious metals IRA. Been sitting on a pretty solid chunk of physical gold in a Gold IRA for a while now – probably just north of $300k in the account, mostly in 1oz Eagles and some smaller PAMP bars. Coming from the steel industry, I’ve always understood the tangible value of commodities, the physical aspect. Gold's been my rock through some pretty wild market swings, especially watching some of my buddies lose their shirts in tech during the dot-com bust back in the day. Living down here in Birmingham, I’ve seen firsthand how inflation eats away at dollar value, and gold has always felt like a safe harbor.
My advisor and I have been talking for a bit about adding some silver into the mix. I was hesitant at first, always saw gold as the ultimate store of value. But after looking at the industrial demand for silver, the supply constraints, and frankly, its much greater volatility compared to gold, it started to make a lot of sense for a smaller portion of the portfolio. We ended up moving about 15% of the IRA into physical silver – mostly American Silver Eagles and some Canadian Maples. I'm hoping to benefit from that higher beta if things go south with the dollar or if manufacturing really starts to pick up significantly.
One of the tools that really helped me with this decision was the Gold vs Stocks Comparison on Gold IRA Blueprint. It's not exactly gold vs silver, but seeing the historical performance of gold against the S&P 500 over the last 10 years really puts things into perspective. It showed me how even a traditional, less volatile asset like gold can dramatically outperform stocks during certain periods, and it got me thinking about how silver, with its more speculative nature, could potentially amplify those gains in a bull run for precious metals.
What are other folks' experiences with holding silver in their IRAs? Do you see it as more of an industrial play or primarily a monetary metal? I'm curious to hear how others in a similar boat, maybe with a portfolio of around $250-500k, are allocating their precious metals. Any specific types of silver you prefer for an IRA?
