401k to Gold IRA - What's a typical timeline here?

So, finally pulled the trigger on getting a chunk of my old 401k moved over to a Gold IRA. Been thinking about this for a while, especially with all the tech volatility lately. Used to think I was invincible in the market, but after seeing a few too many rounds of layoffs and some seriously flat growth numbers, it felt like time to diversify beyond just paper assets. I'm based in SF, and honestly, everyone here's talking about hedging against inflation like it's the new kombucha.
I initiated the process about a week and a half ago to roll over roughly $350k. My understanding from my chosen custodian (Augusta Precious Metals, after a LOT of research) was that it would be a relatively straightforward direct rollover from my old employer's plan (Fidelity). They said they'd handle most of the heavy lifting. I’ve never done anything like this before, always just let my 401k sit there and do its thing, so this feels like a big step.
My concern is the timeline. I know it's not instant, but I'm just curious what other people's experiences have been. Fidelity tends to be pretty efficient, but bureaucratic processes can always throw a wrench in things. I’m eager to see that gold allocated and feel like it’s actually mine, not just a number on a statement. Anyone else transfer a similar amount recently? How long did it really take from initiating the rollover to having the physical metals secured in the vault?
Is there anything I should be proactively doing to speed this up, or is it just a waiting game now? Any unexpected snags people ran into? Trying to set realistic expectations here.
