Finally rolled over my old 401k into a Gold IRA - feeling good (and a little nervous!)

Okay, so I finally pulled the trigger on this. After hearing about gold IRAs for a while, especially with all the economic uncertainty and inflation worries, I decided to move about $60k of my old 401k into a Gold IRA. I run a small marketing business here in Denver, and my retirement savings felt way too exposed to the stock market rollercoaster. Felt like I was just watching my future fluctuate every day on CNBC.
The whole process was... interesting. A lot more paperwork than I anticipated, even with the company helping me through it. It wasn't exactly "click a button and done." Took about three weeks from my initial contact to actually seeing the funds transferred and the gold (I went mostly with Gold Rounds, wanted something straightforward and recognized) allocated. I know $60k isn't a massive fortune, but it's a significant portion of my retirement savings right now, so every step felt pretty high stakes.
My biggest hesitation was honestly the fees, but after comparing a few places, I found one that seemed reasonable. And obviously, the fear of missing out if the stock market suddenly takes off again, but I think the peace of mind having some tangible assets outweighs that for me. I’m thinking long-term here, not trying to get rich quick. Anyone else recently do a similar rollover? How are you feeling about your decision now? Did you go with rounds, coins, or bars?
